Four trailer combinations with wind tower adapter for Universal

These impressive vehicles are in demand when tower segments with a payload of up to 100 tonnes need to be transported on winding routes.

Wind energy is one of the top priorities for the heavy goods haulage company Universal Transport, part of Gruber Logistics.

Accordingly, such projects are also handled on an international level. Four new 4+7 trailer combinations with wind tower adapters from Faymonville are now being used in the construction of a wind farm in Lithuania.

Maximum flexibility for tower mounting

These impressive vehicles are in demand when tower segments with a payload of up to 100 tonnes need to be transported on winding routes. The vehicle is based on a 22.5’ 4-axle dolly with air suspension at the front. Meanwhile, the forced-steered and hydraulically suspended 7-axle trailer is built on 17.5’ tyres.

The two installed tower adapters enable quick connection to the tower segments in 3-point or 4-point mounting. The two adapters are designed for maximum flexibility, as segments with an external flange can also be accommodated.

Safety thanks to hydraulic support

The vertical stroke of 1,600 millimetres makes it possible to drive over high obstacles such as roundabouts, crash barriers or road boundaries along the route.

On the 2,740 mm wide 7-axle trailer, the hydraulic support - unique on the market for this type of vehicle - ensures a very high level of driving safety and allows the trailer to be raised or lowered on one side to further improve stability in critical passages.

Everything firmly in view

Thanks to the standard remote control of the adapter, the operator is always in the secured area and has a perfect overview during loading and unloading.

Universal Transport has been a loyal customer of the Faymonville Group for many years and relies on a wide variety of low-loaders, modules, telescopic flatbed trailers and semi low-loaders in its diverse day-to-day operations.

With these high-tech dolly/trailer products, the company is now taking the next step together with Faymonville in the field of special vehicles.
