A WingMAX duo for Nippon Express

The construction of wind farms in Japan is gathering pace.

As a leading company in the transport sector, our customer Nippon Express has also adapted its fleet to this burgeoning field of activity.

While their Cometto blade lifters are used to transport the rotor blades on “the last mile", new WingMAX telescopic flatbed trailers are used to transport the XXL elements over long distances.

Their newly achieved duo of 3-axle vehicles has a loading platform length of around 70 metres - impressive dimensions. Toshiyuki Nanma, the person responsible at Nippon Express, explains their first area of application: "The planning project is the Abukuma Wind Power Plant in Fukushima Prefecture."

The used pendle-axle technology makes the trailers maneuverable thanks to a 600 mm stroke and a 60° steering angle. Additionally, the hydraulic gooseneck is liftable by 1,700 mm to overcome all kind of obstacles during the transport without any stress.

“The WingMAX flatbeds fulfil all conditions for the time-efficient and cost-effective transport of XXL rotor blades”, Toshiyuki Nanma summarises the conclusion of this new acquisition.

A detailed instruction lesson given by our experts makes the Nippon team ready to fulfil their upcoming jobs successfully.
