S.A.E. with new tools for heaviest tower sections

The wind industry is a worldwide strongly growing sector.

The Italian company S.A.E. is highly specialized in the transport of wind turbine components working throughout Europe.

S.A.E – which means Societa Autotrasporti Eccezionali – has been collaborating with Faymonville for many years and relies on special wind transport equipment, such as quadruple extendable WingMAX trailers to transport XXL rotor blades.

With the acquisition of two new 6-axle MegaMAX lowbeds, the experts now get new options to move heaviest tower sections in an height-optimized way. These trailers with their telescopic and hydraulically widening beams, are specifically designed for this type of mission.

The basic length lower deck is 8,950 mm with an additional extension of 5,500 mm. Thanks to the use of cranked axles, a minimum loading height of only 765 mm on top of the bogie can be achieved in driving position.

This allows to load towers over the full trailer length, usually with their bigger diameter in the lower part.

This project was successfully handled by our Italian partner Tagliaferri and its experts. Glad to see some first pics in action for wind power projects in Italy!
