# Self-steering FlexMAX tower adapter trailer with hydraulic suspension

More stability and safety!

Maximum stability is essential when transporting wind tower segments with [self-steering combinations and free-turning adapters](/news/news/wind-tower-adapter-self-steering-trailers/). As the segments become larger and larger, their centre of gravity also increases, which poses an increasing challenge for the safety of the load and road traffic. The 7-axle dolly from Faymonville is unique on the market in this respect: it is exclusively equipped with a **hydraulic suspension** - a **key request from the industry**.

Our vehicle development is based on intensive co-operation with experienced transport companies from all over Europe. A clear request from these professionals was to find an alternative to air suspension without having to resort to pendle-axles. This valuable feedback from the field was directly integrated into our innovative concept.

The hydraulic suspension significantly improves transport safety and stability and offers numerous advantages over conventional air suspension:

- **Adaptability**: Stable response to changing road conditions.
- **Controlled stability**: Suspension of the self-steering trailer can be individually adjusted in the transverse direction.
- **Flexibility**: Precise raising and lowering of the self-steering trailer.
- **Robustness**: Significantly more durable and resistant than air suspension.

The combination of hydraulic suspension and the innovative steering system with a total of eight steering cylinders sets new standards. For self-steering combinations with tower adapters, this is **the ultimate in stability and safety**. And another clever special feature: the two installed tower adapters enable connection to the tower segments in 3-point or 4-point mounting.
