In the renewable segment, **wind power** has been used since ancient time to make energy available from the environment for technical purposes. In the past, windmills were used to drive **machines** and **equipment**. Today, generating electrical energy using **wind turbines** is a widespread form of technology. Wind turbines are made up of **tower segments, generators, hybrid towers** and **rotor blades**. When it comes to erecting the facilities, a distinction is made between **onshore wind power stations** on land and **offshore wind power stations** at sea. Special forms of transport take care of supplying the respective operation sites. ### Wind turbine blades and power station components Using **extendable low loaders**, versatile **low bed** variants, as well as **heavy-duty modules** and **flatbed trailers** from Faymonville creates the conditions for working competitively and efficiently among the constant change of the wind sector. Tower segment, transformers, generators and hybrid towers are all transported with **semi low loaders.** Particularly long loads, such as **wind turbine blades**, can be ideally transported using **flatbed semi-trailers**. The **rigid** or **offset gooseneck** on the **TeleMAX** manufactured by Faymonville guarantees ultimate bending stiffness here. **Hydraulic pendle axles** ensure the biggest possible steering angle and a maximum stroke. Such **flatbed semi-trailers** are ideally equipped for demanding terrain conditions and route profiles. ### Height-optimised to the wind farm **Low bed semi-trailers** with maximum flexibility and manoeuvrability are the key to transporting high cargo. The **VarioMAX, VarioMAX Plus** and **MegaMAX** product types are particularly suited for **special transport** and are able to score highly with **length-optimised loading platforms** and a **removable gooseneck**. The versatile low bed options generate maximum flexibility. These include the **hydraulically widenable vesseldeck** and **flat outer beams**, which come in single and double **telescopic** versions. Any transport requirement can be managed with flexible, **modular vehicles**. The **CombiMAX** and **ModulMAX** series are distinguished by the four basic functions of the **gooseneck**. These are: **rigid** gooseneck, **liftable** and **lowerable** gooseneck, **hydraulically compensating** gooseneck and **removable** gooseneck. In the modular CombiMAX range meanwhile it is possible, thanks to the add-on beam, to extend the vehicle into a **telescopic modular vehicle**. When it comes to equipping **transformer stations** and **power plants** too, special transport using modular vehicles are part of everyday operations. Generators and transformers make up compact and very heavy loads here.
